This reminds me of those 'choose your own fate' books I used to read. You pick an interpretation or action and the story goes on after your decision. Here, in this picture, the shattering glass sphere the pair reside within could be taken as the couple's fragile relationship, which seems to be just budding and at the point where many factors could step in to trample on it. Perhaps someone is watching them through a crystal ball, and has crushed it the moment they witnessed the embrace, this on-looker now furious and set on ruining their love. That, or the viewer could believe that the lover's emotion and depth of feeling for one another has broken through the boundary, in the form of that orb, society has placed between such relationships. Maybe still, it's something completely different. It's all up to whatever you decide.
